Rajasthan vs Lucknow on April 19

Rajasthan Royals will take on Lucknow Super Giants in the 36th match of the Indian Premier League 2025. This match will be played at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. 74 matches will be played across 13 cities over the next two months as the IPL fever kicks off. Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator will be played in Hyderabad on May 20 and 21, respectively. Qualifier 2, on May 23, and the final on May 25, will be in Kolkata. Rajasthan Royals are eighth in the points table with two wins and five losses in seven matches. They suffered a defeat against the Delhi Capitals in the previous match in the super over. It was a heart-breaking defeat as they failed to chase down nine runs in the last over, and they will be keen to bounce back.  On the other hand, Lucknow Super Giants lost the previous match against Chennai Super Kings by five wickets. They are placed fifth in the points table with four wins and three losses in seven matches.

Best economical pick  Other than the 4 for 35 Wanidu Hasaranga secured against CSK in RR's second game of the season, he has not been in the best of wicket-taking form. However, he is expected to good in the upcoming fixture.

Top captains & vice captains Nicholas Pooran suffered a rare lapse in LSG's previous clash. Apart from that, the southpaw has been in stunning form so far. He has four half-centuries at a stunning rate this season and more of the same could be expected from him. Yashasvi Jaiswal will open the batting and scored 435 runs in 15 matches in the previous edition. He will be a good vice-captaincy pick for this match.

Smart pick  Aiden Markram has scored two half centuries in seven matches so far this season. He will be a good option for this match.

Cautious Pick Riyan Parag has had a mixed IPL 2025 season so far, scoring 173 runs in seven innings at an average of 28.83 and a strike rate of 147.86, showing some attacking intent but lacking consistency compared to his breakout 2024 season where he scored 573 runs at an average over 50. Despite the management's backing, including promoting him to No. 3 and entrusting him with leadership duties early in the season, Parag has faced criticism from fans for underwhelming performances and key failures, such as scoring only 8 runs off 11 balls in a crucial match against Delhi Capitals where his bat also failed a gauge test. Given this inconsistency and recent poor outings, especially in high-pressure situations, it may be prudent to avoid selecting Riyan Parag in your fantasy team.

My XI – Nicholas Pooran (Captain), Yashasvi Jaiswal (Vice-Captain)Wanidu Hasaranga, Aiden Markram, Sanju Samson, Nitish Rana, Jofra Archer, Mitchell Marsh, Rishabh Pant, David Miller, Digvesh Rathi
